David Lawson

David Lawson is a Lecturer at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, teaching writing and humanities courses with a focus on discussion-centered seminars and close reading techniques.

• Education: BA in Ancient Literature, MA in Education from the University of California, Santa Cruz

His academic interests revolve around demotic reading and writing practices, exploring how individuals engage with texts and writing in everyday contexts. Prior to MIAD, he worked as a high school teacher, project manager, campaign organizer, museum docent, and professional bicycle vagrant.
