About
David Knight is Professor and Director of Behavioral Neuroscience in the Department of Psychology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He leads research on the neural substrates of human emotion, learning, and memory using advanced neuroimaging techniques.
Research program examines healthy and dysfunctional emotion processes, with particular focus on neural circuitry supporting emotion regulation. Studies investigate susceptibility to stress and mechanisms underlying mood and anxiety disorders through fMRI, DTI, and MRS methodologies.
Current work explores how psychosocial stress influences brain connectivity patterns and neural reactivity. Research has clinical implications for understanding resilience to stress-related psychopathology.
