David Keane

Dr. David Keane is an Associate Professor in Law at Dublin City University's School of Law and Government, part of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. He previously held roles as Lecturer at Brunel University and Associate Professor at Middlesex University in London. His research focuses on international human rights law, particularly ICERD and UN treaty systems. He holds degrees from University College Cork (BCL), and NUI Galway (LLM, PhD), where he received a Government of Ireland scholarship.

Research Interests:
Explores ICERD's implementation, caste-based discrimination, and UN treaty mechanisms. Recent work addresses inter-State cases under ICERD, with publications in The Law & Practice of International Courts and Tribunals and Melbourne Journal of International Law.
