David Jones

David Jones is a Lecturer in Education (Primary PGCE Science) at the University of East Anglia's School of Education & Lifelong Learning. He holds a BSc in Analytical Chemistry and an MA in Education from Anglia Ruskin University (2012). His career spans industrial laboratory work, primary school teaching, and senior leadership roles including Head of Year, Science Coordinator, and Curriculum Coordinator.

Research focuses on science capital development in primary teachers and non-specialists' identity as science educators. He led a project on science capital in PGCE students (2018–2019) and contributed to curriculum materials for mastery-based math programs. Consulted for the National Institute for Health Research diabetes app (2020).

Current roles include teaching on the Primary PGCE, BA Education, and MA Digital Resources in STEM modules. Serves on the Norfolk/Suffolk Science Education Committee and governing bodies of two top-rated primary schools.
