David Jaffe

David Jaffe is an Adjunct Lecturer at Stanford University where he teaches courses in assistive technology and mechanical engineering design. His research focuses on rehabilitation technologies including virtual reality applications for elderly fall prevention, wearable motion analysis systems, and communication aids for people with disabilities.

He has developed several assistive devices including the RALPH fingerspelling hand for deaf-blind communication and ultrasonic head-controlled wheelchair interfaces. His work has been recognized with the RESNA Fellow Award and Distinguished Service Award for contributions to rehabilitation technology.
