David J. Soukup serves as Adjunct Faculty in Technology Management and Innovation at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. He is the Managing Director, Governance of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), overseeing governance, ethics, and professional practice operations with a $130M annual budget. Holding a M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee and B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Arizona, he is a licensed Professional Engineer and Certified Association Executive.
His research interests focus on organizational governance frameworks, international engineering collaboration, and innovative educational technologies. Notable contributions include pioneering ASME's open source design initiatives and establishing the Project Office to standardize cross-sectoral operations.
