David I Hanauer

David I Hanauer is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. He serves as Lead Assessment Coordinator for the SEA-PHAGES program, an initiative supported by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) that focuses on undergraduate research experiences in bacteriophage discovery. His work integrates scientific inquiry, educational assessment, and STEM literacy.

Key research interests include student ownership of research projects, assessment methodologies for scientific inquiry, and barriers faced by second-language researchers in academic publishing.
