David House

David House is a Professor of Acoustic and Phonetic Analysis at Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (KTH Royal Institute of Technology), working within the Division of Speech, Music and Hearing. He joined KTH in 1998 as an associate professor and was promoted to full professor in 2007. His research focuses on interactional aspects of spoken communication, including multimodal prosody, speech-gesture synchronization, speech perception, and corpus-based analysis of spontaneous dialogue. He holds a Ph.D. in Phonetics from Lund University (1991) and has prior affiliations with Lund University's Departments of Linguistics and Logopedics (1982–1998) and the University of Skövde's Department of Languages (1997–1998). His work involves developing speech corpora, analyzing gesture-speech relationships, and advancing technologies like neural TTS systems.
