David Hennessy

David Hennessy is the Cargill Professor in Economic Systems at the Department of Economics, Iowa State University. His research focuses on the economics of crop and livestock production systems, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration between microeconomic theory and empirical analysis. He explores interfaces with environmental sustainability, financial risk management, food safety, and input markets. Hennessy previously held faculty positions at Washington State University and Michigan State University. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Agricultural Science from University College Dublin and his Ph.D. in Economics from Iowa State University.
