David Goyette

David Goyette is an Associate Teaching Professor of Business Communication and Acting at the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). He teaches 'Acting for Business' in MBA and Undergraduate programs, integrating theatre techniques to enhance executive presence and communication skills. Prior to CMU, he was a Tenured Associate Professor of Theatre and Chair of the Theatre Department at Truman State University.

Education: MFA in Directing (University of Texas at Austin, 2003); BFA in Drama (Carnegie Mellon University, 1997).

Research interests focus on applying theatre methodologies to business contexts, including leadership training, improvisation for organizational change, and neuroinclusive teaching strategies. He has conducted workshops with organizations like The Shakespeare Theatre Company, Walt Disney Pictures, and Mahindra Group, emphasizing executive presence and presentation skills.

Recent professional activities include leading workshops on neurodiversity in education, anti-hate awareness initiatives, and serving on the Tepper Undergraduate Business Program Curriculum Review committee. He has also contributed to leadership programs such as the Mahindra Accelerated Leadership Track and Strategies for Advancing Women in Organizations.

Awards include a 2023 Certificate of Merit for Directing and recognition for innovative theatre productions at Truman State.
