David Foster is Professor of Vision Systems in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Manchester. A physicist by training, he holds fellowships from IOP, IMA, OSA, and the Physiological Society. His research develops optimality-based models of visual perception using hyperspectral imaging and psychophysical methods.
