David Epstein is a Distinguished Adjunct Professor of Law at New York Law School, where he has taught since 1991. His courses include Evidence, Legal Practice, Drafting: Contracts, Legal Reasoning, Writing and Research, and Principles of Legal Analysis. He previously served as the law school's research specialist, training students in legal research methodologies.

His research and professional expertise focus on multiple legal domains including evidence law, contract drafting, civil procedure, trade regulation, antitrust, and appellate practice. He maintains an active private legal practice specializing in commercial, criminal, and appellate cases since 1995.
Professor Epstein authored the fourth edition of Eckstrom’s Licensing in Foreign and Domestic Operations and co-authored the New York Evidence Courtroom Manual and the Teacher’s Handbook to The Lawyer’s Craft.
