Dr. David Enke serves as Associate Dean of the Kummer College and Professor of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T). He leads the Laboratory for Investment and Financial Engineering (LIFE) and is affiliated with the EMSE Smart Engineering Systems Lab and Missouri S&T Intelligent Systems Center. His research focuses on financial engineering, risk management, derivatives, and computational intelligence techniques such as neural networks, genetic algorithms, and machine learning for financial forecasting.
Education: PhD (1997), M.S. (1994), and B.S. (1990) in Engineering Management and Electrical Engineering from Missouri S&T. External roles include Associate Professor and Department Chair at the University of Tulsa (2011–2011) and faculty positions at Binghamton University and the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
Research interests include stock price forecasting, volatility modeling, hedge fund replication, and Bitcoin price prediction. Recent work emphasizes deep learning and hybrid models for cryptocurrency analysis. His teaching includes courses on financial engineering, risk management, and investment strategies.
