David E. Weeks

Dr. David E. Weeks is a Professor of Engineering Physics at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), where he has taught graduate physics courses for nearly 30 years. His research spans atomic, molecular, and optical physics with a focus on quantum information science, including quantum entanglement and error correction algorithms on IBM quantum computers.

Dr. Weeks' publications since 2018 highlight trends in alkali-noble gas interactions, fiber laser simulation, and quantum error detection. He has contributed to quantum computing protocols without ancilla qubits and directed energy modeling.

He has been awarded 26 research grants (16 as PI) and mentored 12 PhD and 16 MS students. Dr. Weeks has authored 47 journal articles, 16 conference proceedings, and 2 book chapters, with expertise in theoretical physics and computational modeling.
