David Dye

Professor David Dye is affiliated with Imperial College London, where he serves in the Department of Materials within the Faculty of Engineering. His research focuses on advancing titanium and nickel alloys for aerospace applications, particularly in understanding deformation behavior and microstructural evolution under extreme conditions.

Using advanced techniques such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and synchrotron/neutron diffraction, he investigates material properties through in-situ experiments at international facilities like ESRF and Diamond Light Source. Current funding includes EPSRC grants and industry partnerships with Rolls-Royce.

Former students and postdocs under his supervision include Dr. Seema Raghunathan, Dr. Russell Talling, and Dr. Nicholas Jones, among others. His work emphasizes enabling low-carbon technology and enhancing UK manufacturing capabilities.
