Dr David Delaine is an Associate Professor in the School of Universal Computing, Construction and Engineering Education at Florida International University's College of Engineering and Computing. He directs the Inclusive Community-based Learning (iCBL) Lab, which investigates how community-based learning impacts stakeholders. His NSF CAREER-funded research develops evidence-based approaches to foster reflexive engineering professionals and promote diversity.
His work examines community-academic partnerships, reciprocity in service-learning, empathy development in engineers, and diversity in STEM education. Recent publications focus on research methodologies including secondary qualitative data analysis frameworks and systematic reviews of reciprocity models.
