David Delacrétaz is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Economics at the University of Manchester, School of Social Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Melbourne (2018), an M.Sc. from the University of Lausanne (2011), and a B.Sc. from the same institution (2009). Prior to his current role, he was a Postdoctoral Prize Research Fellow at Nuffield College and the Department of Economics, University of Oxford (2018–2021).
His research focuses on Applied Microeconomic Theory, Market Design, Matching Theory, and Mechanism Design. Notable contributions include work on refugee resettlement mechanisms, Walrasian-VCG equilibrium relationships, and stability in two-sided allocation problems. He has published in top journals like the American Economic Review and Theoretical Economics.
Delacrétaz has received prestigious awards including the Best Job Market Paper Award (2020) and the Williams Prize (2018). He actively contributes to academic communities as a referee for journals like Econometrica and as an organizer of the Manchester Economic Theory Seminar.
