David Deephouse is a Professor and Thornton A. Graham Chair at the University of Alberta's Alberta School of Business, with additional roles as Associate Dean of Research and PhD Program. His research examines organizational legitimacy, corporate reputation, and the indigenization of business education.
His research interests focus on social evaluations of organizations, particularly legitimacy and reputation, with recent work expanding to indigenization and decolonization in business education. He investigates how language and communication shape organizational perceptions across different institutional contexts.
Professor Deephouse has developed courses on Indigenous business and organized several conferences on indigenizing business schools. He actively supports reconciliation efforts through curriculum development and institutional change initiatives.
His publications examine legitimacy frameworks, corporate reputation in global contexts, and strategies for integrating Indigenous perspectives into business education.
