David D Ginty

David D Ginty is the Edward R. and Anne G. Lefler Professor of Neurobiology and Head of the Department of Neurobiology at Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on understanding the neurobiological basis of touch perception, neural circuits underlying somatosensory functions, and developmental mechanisms of sensory neurons. His work integrates molecular genetics, electrophysiology, and behavioral analyses to study touch-related disorders like autism spectrum disorders and neuropathic pain. The Ginty Lab is located at the Goldenson Building in Boston.

Research interests include mechanosensory neuron subtypes, spinal cord circuit organization, and molecular mechanisms of touch dysfunction.
