David Cross

Dr. David Cross is an Assistant Professor of the Practice in the College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide. With over 30 years of experience as an airline pilot, he currently serves as a Captain and Line Check Pilot for the Boeing 787. His academic journey includes degrees in Engineering (B.S.), Safety (M.S.), Business Administration (M.B.A.), Curriculum and Instruction (Ed.D.), and Business Administration (Ph.D.).

Dr. Cross’s research focuses on statistics, human factors engineering, communications, adult education, and research methods. His work bridges aviation safety, education innovation, and technology integration. Notable contributions include studies on pilot mental health perceptions, ethical conduct in aviation, and the role of AI tools like ChatGPT in education.
