Professor David Carter is the National Head of School for Law and Business at Notre Dame. With over 20 years of experience in law, business, and academia, he combines practical legal and accounting expertise with transdisciplinary research.

His research explores the ethics and politics of information at the intersection of accounting, law, politics, and regulation. Key pillars include the onto-ethical politics of information, governance mechanisms, and discourses of the commons and capital. Recent work examines Coeliac disease in workplace inclusion, corruption in Indonesian auditing, and SROI ethics.

Prof. Carter has supervised over 20 HDR students in critical accounting, law, and governance studies. His teaching spans Risk Management, Torts, Research Philosophy, and Business Ethics, emphasizing Freirean dialogics and ethical judgment.
