David Barnes

David Barnes is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Mathematics and Physics, Queen's University Belfast, affiliated with the Mathematical Sciences Research Centre. His office is located in Room 01.026 of the Old Physics building. He actively accepts PhD students in advanced mathematical disciplines.

Dr. Barnes specializes in pure mathematics with research interests spanning:

• Algebraic topology and homotopy theory
• Equivariant and stable homotopy structures
• Homotopical algebra and model categories
• Profinite group applications in topology
• Functor calculus and operadic structures

His recent publications (2021-2024) focus on equivariant homotopy theory for profinite groups, algebraic models for spectra, and operad theory. This work bridges abstract algebra, category theory, and topological structures, consistently exploring group-equivariant phenomena.

He maintains active academic collaborations, serves as principal investigator on research projects, and regularly participates in international conferences with invited talks scheduled through 2025.
