David B. Smith is a PhD Researcher at the Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies (BCDSS) within the University of Bonn’s Faculty of Protestant Theology. His research explores early medieval Christian penitentials and their role in shaping gendered and sexual dependencies.
