David Appleby

David F. Appleby is a Tutor at Thomas Aquinas College specializing in Roman and medieval history. His scholarship examines cultural memory, religious thought, and visual culture in Carolingian Europe, with recent work on shrine destruction in hagiographic texts.

His teaching covers the liberal arts curriculum including Homer, Aristotle, Augustine, and Dante. Previously at the U.S. Naval Academy, he developed courses on pre-Reformation Christian culture.
