Dr. David Allison is an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University. His research focuses on Obesity, Quantitative Genetics, Clinical Trials, and Research Integrity. He holds a Ph.D. from Hofstra University and completed post-doctoral fellowships at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the New York Obesity Research Center at St. Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital Center.
He has authored over 500 publications, edited five books, and secured significant NIH grants including the NIH Director's Transformative Research Award (TR01). Notably, he was elected to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies in 2012. Professional roles include Board Trustee of the International Life Science Institute (ILSI, North America; 2002–present), Board Chairman (2012–2015), and Scientific Advisory Board member for the Nutrition Science Initiative (NuSI). He also served on the AAAS Committee on Science and Technology Engagement with the Public (2014–2017).
