David Adkins

Dr David Adkins is a Lecturer at the University of Plymouth within the Plymouth Business School, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business. His academic leadership role includes oversight of postgraduate programmes.

Research Interests: David specializes in regional development and cluster dynamics within the maritime sector. His work intersects with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those addressing economic growth and sustainable communities.

Teaching: He delivers courses on maritime business, regulation, legislation, policy, and history, alongside supply chain management with a focus on commercial and procurement practices.

Supervision of Research Degrees: David mentors two maritime PhD students and one Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) candidate, guiding advanced research in maritime and business domains.
