David A. Johnson

David A. Johnson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Management and Systems Sciences at the University of Louisville's School of Public Health and Information Sciences (SPHIS). A Louisville native, his work focuses on health equity, social determinants of health, and public health education. He holds a BA in Biological Anthropology from the University of Louisville, followed by an MPH and PhD in Public Health Sciences (Health Management concentration) from SPHIS.

Current projects include teaching in the UofL Public Health Undergraduate Program, developing manuscripts from doctoral research, and contributing to Health in All Policies initiatives with the Institute for Healthy Air, Water and Soil. His research emphasizes public health networks, workforce development through education, and addressing food security through local food systems.

He maintains office hours by appointment at Studio Arts Building Room 110-A on the Belknap Campus, and can be reached at Dajohn04@louisville.edu.
