David A Miller

David A. Miller, MD, is a Clinical Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Southern California (USC) and serves as Director of the CHLA-USC Institute for Maternal-Fetal Health, a multidisciplinary center focused on fetal and neonatal diagnosis and therapy. He is board-certified in obstetrics, gynecology, and maternal-fetal medicine, and holds the Barbara and Houchang Modanlou Endowed Professorship in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Dr. Miller also leads the USC Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program Rotation at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center and the Fetal Heart Rate Program at Keck Medicine of USC.

His research focuses on antepartum and intrapartum fetal evaluation, emphasizing fetal physiology and standardized training in electronic fetal heart rate monitoring. He co-authored the textbook Fetal Monitoring and Assessment (7th edition) and contributed to 15+ recent publications spanning maternal-fetal medicine, fetal surgery, pregnancy complications, and clinical education.

Dr. Miller’s scientific contributions include advancements in Twin-Twin Transfusion Syndrome management, uterine rupture risk assessment, and fetal hemodynamic monitoring. He has served as a peer reviewer for prominent medical journals and developed models for resident training in obstetric procedures.
