Dave Newell is a Full Professor of Integrated Musculoskeletal Care and Doctoral Coordinator at Health Sciences University. He also serves as a Visiting Research Fellow at the School of Primary Care and Population Sciences, University of Southampton.

Newell's research focuses on contextual factors in therapeutic encounters, patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), and telehealth applications. His work explores how clinician-patient dynamics and psychosocial elements influence treatment efficacy.
Recent research trends include systematic analyses of contextual factors in chronic pain management, PROMs implementation, and interdisciplinary collaboration in manual therapies. He chairs the University College Professoriate and leads doctoral program development.
