Dr Daryl Stump is a Lecturer at the University of York, holding joint appointments in the Department of Archaeology and the Department of Environment and Geography. His research focuses on the sustainability of human-environment interactions, particularly through archaeological analysis of historic agricultural systems in eastern Africa. He leads major projects like the ERC-funded AAREA and GCRF-supported SOIL-SAFE, integrating geoarchaeological, archaeobotanical, and modeling techniques. His work emphasizes applying long-term data to modern resource-use policies.
