Darren Henry

Professor Darren Henry is a Professor of Economics and Finance at La Trobe University, leading the Department of Economics and Finance within the La Trobe Business School. He holds a PhD (1997) and BEc(Hons) from La Trobe University. His academic roles include Program Director for the Bachelor of Business degree and former Head of Department (2015–2017). His research focuses on corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance, and teaching innovations. He has supervised 28 PhD and over 40 Honours students. Notably, he won an AAUT Citation (2020) for developing authentic finance education tools. He also served as a Research Fellow for Macroeconomics (2005–2015) and held visiting roles at UK institutions.

Research Interests: Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Governance, Behavioral Finance, Capital Structure, and Teaching Methodologies. His work spans empirical finance, policy impacts, and cross-border transactions. He contributes to academic leadership roles in committees like the University Academic Quality Committee.
