Professor Darren Croft is a faculty member at the University of Exeter, currently serving as Professor of Animal Behaviour and Co-Deputy Head of the Psychology Department. He is a behavioural ecologist whose research explores the mechanisms, functions, and evolutionary implications of animal societies, with a focus on cooperation, life history evolution, social recognition, and sexual conflict. His group studies diverse systems, from freshwater fish to killer whales.
