Dariusz Zimnicki

Prof. Dariusz Zimnicki serves as Head of the Department of Choral Conducting at the Faculty of Music Education, Choral Studies and Rhythmics, Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. A graduate of Vilnius Conservatory and Warsaw Academy of Music under Prof. Ryszard Zimak, he leads five Warsaw choirs including the Academic Choir of Warsaw University of Technology and Warsaw Archcathedral Choir since 2004.

Zimnicki specializes in dynamic choral programming spanning a cappella works, classical masters (Bach, Mozart, Beethoven), and contemporary compositions, having premiered over 40 vocal-instrumental pieces. His research-driven approach emphasizes rediscovering neglected choral literature while advancing modern choral techniques through international workshops across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

As founder of the International Conference 'The Personality of the Conductor', he shapes global choral pedagogy. His competitive achievements include:

• Grand Prix of Polish Choral Music 2018 (with Best Conductor honor)
• Three Rubinowa Lutnia awards at 'Legnica Cantat' tournament
• First prize at Białystok Orthodox Church Music Competition
• Best Conductor award at Belarus' 'Kolozhsky Blagovest' competition

With over 30 international competition awards and annual juror roles at events like Llangollen Eisteddfod, he remains a transformative force in choral arts through composition, performance innovation, and cross-cultural musical exchange.
