About
Dr. hab. Dariusz Asanowicz is a full-time professor at the Jagiellonian University's Institute of Psychology and leads the BrainBeat Lab. He earned his Ph.D. in psychology from Jagiellonian University in 2010 and completed postdoctoral training under Rolf Verleger at the University of Lübeck (2013-2015).
His research focuses on the integration of distributed brain codes into coherent conscious representations, the role of attention in neural integration, and the neural mechanisms linking attention to intentional actions. Key methodologies include EEG and neural oscillation analysis.
He currently leads two major projects:
- Rhythms of Attention (NCN Opus 23, 2023-2027): Investigates the causal role of neural oscillations in selective attention.
- Spatiotemporal Dynamics of Multimodal Attention (NCN Opus 17, 2019-2025): Collaborative effort with BMS Faculty (UT), Faculty of Physics (Adam Mickiewicz University), and Jagiellonian University.
