Danuta Lech-Kirstein is a university professor at the University of Opole, serving as the head of the Department of Speech Therapy since 2024 and part of the Rector's structure. She holds a PhD in linguistics (2003) and habilitation in humanities (2019). Her research focuses on onomastics, Silesian studies, and Polish as a foreign language. She is actively involved in scholarly societies, including the Polish Linguistic Society and the Commission on Linguistics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. She served as deputy director of the Institute of Polish Studies and Cultural Studies (2017–2020) and is a member of the Scientific Council of the University of Opole. She also contributes to the editorial board of the international journal Stylistyka. Her work spans linguistic research, speech therapy, and educational roles in language certification.
