Danny Bega

Danny Bega is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University. He specializes in Movement Disorders and directs the Parkinson’s Disease & Movement Disorders Center, as well as the Huntington's disease and Wilson's disease clinics. He is also the Neurology Residency Program Director and involved in clinical trials with an interest in integrative medicine.

Research Interests: Dr. Bega's research focuses on movement disorders, particularly Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, and Wilson's disease. He has a strong interest in integrative medicine approaches to neurology. His work includes clinical trials and studies on the impact of spiritual well-being in Huntington's disease, dysphagia in Parkinson's, and the effects of drug interactions on diagnostic imaging. He also explores the application of botulinum toxin in movement disorders.

Publications Trend: His recent publications (2024-2025) span a range of topics within movement disorders, including neurodegenerative patterns in progressive supranuclear palsy, phenoconversion in Huntington's disease, dysphagia in Parkinson's, and DAT-SPECT imaging. His leadership in clinical trials demonstrates a commitment to advancing treatments for movement disorders.

Labs and Teams: Dr. Bega directs the Parkinson’s Disease & Movement Disorders Center and the Huntington's disease and Wilson's disease clinics at Northwestern Medicine.
