Danné L. Johnson

Danné L. Johnson is the Constance Baker Motley Professor of Law at Oklahoma City University School of Law. With 17 years of teaching experience, she focuses on legal education emphasizing cultural competency and client advocacy. Her research spans implicit bias, securities regulation, nonprofit organizations, and intersections of race, class, and gender.

Research & Engagement: Johnson explores implicit bias in legal contexts and its societal impacts. She is a Certified Diversity Professional, delivering workshops on race and bias for institutions like the United Methodist Church and Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits. Her teaching extends internationally, including in London, China, and the Cayman Islands.

Leadership & Service: Johnson chairs strategic planning for The Links, Inc., leads nominations for Jack & Jill of America, and coordinates law-student volunteers for estate planning initiatives. Nationally, she advises Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and previously chaired the AALS Section of Women in Legal Education.

Prior Career: Before academia, she served as Branch Chief in the SEC's Division of Enforcement (1994–2000) and worked at MetLife (2000–2003) developing financial products.
