Danielle Rudd

Danielle Rudd is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Mount Mercy University and currently serves as the Dean of Students.

• PhD in Genetics from the University of Iowa (2014)
• BSE in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa (2003)

Research interests: Her work spans Genetics, Genomics, and Neuroscience, with a focus on genomic copy number variation in schizophrenia and traumatic brain injury effects on the visual system.

Education:

• Doctorate in Genetics from the University of Iowa, 2014
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) from the University of Iowa, 2003

Academic and professional roles: Prior to her administrative position, she was a tenured Assistant Professor of Biology at Mount Mercy (2016–2023). She also served as Faculty Athletic Representative, Title IX Deputy Coordinator, and adjunct instructor at Kirkwood Community College.
