Dr. Danielle Raad (she/her) is a researcher, anthropologist, archaeologist, and educator affiliated with Stanford University's Archaeology Department. She holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an S.M. in Materials Science and Engineering from MIT, an M.Ed. in Secondary Education from Lesley University, an M.A. in Chemistry from Harvard University, and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Brown University.

Her research interests span interdisciplinary domains, integrating quantitative methods (e.g., chemical analysis of ceramics, material characterization of lapidary technologies) with qualitative explorations of historical narratives, community activism, and the interplay between material culture and landscape. She pioneered an "orogenic ethnography" framework in her forthcoming book Above the Oxbow, which examines place-making on Mount Holyoke over two centuries.
As an educator, she has taught at high school, community college, and university levels, developed curricula in archaeology and physics, and earned a Postdoctoral Certificate of College Teaching Preparation from Yale's Poorvu Center.
