Her interdisciplinary work integrates epidemiological methods with health services research to improve care quality for chronic conditions.
Her academic credentials include:
- Post-Doctorate in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Western University (2023)
- PhD in Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact, McMaster University (2018)
- MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Western University (2011)
- BSc in Honours Specialization in Physiology and Psychology, Western University (2009)
Dr. Nash's research centers on chronic kidney disease epidemiology, healthcare quality metrics, and Indigenous health equity, utilizing both administrative datasets and qualitative methodologies. She investigates learning health systems implementation in primary care settings, with particular emphasis on vulnerable populations including First Nations communities. Her work bridges clinical practice and research through population-based cohort studies and quality improvement frameworks.
Analysis of her publication record reveals three dominant research trajectories: (1) learning health system development in Ontario primary care networks, (2) kidney disease outcomes and care disparities among Indigenous populations, and (3) medication safety monitoring in chronic kidney disease. Her recent work demonstrates increasing methodological sophistication through mixed-methods approaches combining quantitative administrative data analysis with qualitative provider interviews.
Her scientific recognition includes:
- CIHR-funded Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship focusing on learning health systems in primary care
Dr. Nash's research program is supported through institutional affiliations with ICES and London Health Sciences Centre, with collaborative projects involving the Alliance for Healthier Communities and Ontario's primary care networks. Her CIHR fellowship enabled development of quality improvement frameworks now being implemented in community health centers across Ontario.
She actively contributes to Western University's research clusters in Aging & Life-Course Epidemiology, Chronic Disease & Multimorbidity, Epidemiological Observational Studies, and Health Services Research, while leading kidney-focused initiatives within ICES' provincial research infrastructure.
