Danielle Charette is an Assistant Professor of Politics in the general faculty and Associate Director of the Program on Constitutionalism and Democracy at the University of Virginia. She holds a B.A. in English Literature from Swarthmore College (2014) and completed her Ph.D. with the dissertation "David Hume's Imperfect Commonwealth" (2021). Her research focuses on civic republicanism, the Scottish Enlightenment, and eighteenth-century debates over globalization, examining their legacies for contemporary understandings of liberty, political economy, and the nation-state.
Her work appears in prestigious journals such as the American Political Science Review, Political Studies, and Political Theory, alongside contributions to edited volumes.
