About
Daniele Alessandrini is a Lecturer at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Stevens Institute of Technology. He holds a PhD from Scuola Normale Superiore (2007) and has held positions at Columbia University, Heidelberg University, and institutions in France, Switzerland, and Germany. His research focuses on Geometric Topology and Differential Geometry, particularly Higher Teichmüller Theory, Higgs bundles, and geometric structures on manifolds.
Education includes a PhD in Mathematics from Scuola Normale Superiore and an MS from the University of Pisa. His work explores character varieties, Teichmüller spaces, and applications of tropical geometry. He has organized conferences such as the International Workshop on Higher Teichmüller Theory (2024) and GTiNY (2023).
Research interests span geometric structures, symplectic groups, and noncommutative coordinates. Over 30 publications include studies on Anosov representations, Hitchin components, and AdS 3-manifolds. He advises PhD, Master’s, and undergraduate students, focusing on geometric topology and differential geometry.
