Daniela Zimmermann

Daniela Zimmermann is a Lecturer and interim lead of the MA Design program at the Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art (HSLU), Switzerland. Since 2018, she has been part of the BA Product Design department. Her academic roles combine teaching with research in sustainable design practices and global industry dynamics.

Her professional background spans 20 years in the global textile industry, influencing her interdisciplinary approach to education. Key research interests include circular economies, regenerative design systems, and the socio-cultural dimensions of design. She emphasizes ethical production networks, bridging gaps between local craftsmanship and global supply chains.

Zimmermann’s studio practice in Zurich focuses on transformative design projects that blend art, craft, and sustainability. Notable collaborations include work with H&M, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and the United Nations’ International Trade Centre.
