Daniela Tan

Daniela Tan is a Research Fellow in Japanese Philology at the University of Zurich's Ostasiatisches Seminar (East Asian Seminar) and part of the ERC Advanced Grant TIMEJ project. Her work focuses on contemporary Japanese literature, particularly female authors, trauma narratives, and gender studies.

Research areas include comparative literary studies, memory discourse in post-atomic literature, and transcultural translation practices. She has organized academic conferences and contributed to international symposiums on Japanese literature and trauma studies.

Her recent publications and presentations explore temporal representations, gendered narratives, and intercultural dimensions in Japanese literary works. She teaches courses on modern Japanese literature, literary criticism, and Japanese cultural studies.
