About
Daniela Täuber is a researcher at the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology (Leibniz-IPHT) and Friedrich Schiller University Jena (FSU Jena), where she leads the BioPOLIM research team. She holds positions in the Department of Quantum Detection at Leibniz-IPHT and is affiliated with the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy at FSU Jena, where she is currently working on her Habilitation. Her career includes international research experiences at Lund University in Sweden and collaborations with the Jena University Hospital.
Dr. Täuber's research focuses on the implementation and further development of fluorescence microscopy and nano-infrared spectroscopic imaging techniques to exploit optical anisotropies for nanostructure elucidation in both Life and Materials Sciences. Her work bridges physics, materials science, and biomedical applications, particularly in Parkinson's disease research and sepsis treatment.
Her recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on photo-induced force microscopy (PiFM), polarization imaging techniques, and their biomedical applications. The research shows consistent progression in developing advanced imaging methodologies with increasing complexity and biomedical relevance, particularly in protein structure analysis and disease mechanism investigation.
Scientific recognition includes:
- DFG funding for multiple projects (DFG-TA 1049/1, DFG-TA 1049/2, HiResi4RPE)
- Scholarships for female postdocs from FSU Jena
- Invitation as nanospectroscopy expert by the European Commission
- Access grant by Laserlab Europe
Dr. Täuber actively participates in teaching and mentoring, having engaged in the Mentoring Program of the UniBUND Halle-Jena-Leipzig (2020-2022) and contributed to teaching activities at FSU Jena. Her BioPOLIM research team maintains a strong focus on developing and applying advanced optical techniques for biomedical research problems.
