Daniela Stan Raicu

Daniela Stan Raicu is a Professor at DePaul University's School of Computing within the College of Computing and Digital Media. She serves as co-director of the Medical Informatics and Intelligent Multimedia Processing Laboratories and Director of the Data Mining and Predictive Analytics Center at DePaul.

Dr. Stan Raicu earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Oakland University, Michigan, an M.A. in Computer Science from Wayne State University, Michigan, and a B.S. in Mathematics from University of Bucharest, Romania.

Her research focuses on applying computational techniques to healthcare challenges, with expertise spanning biomedical informatics, medical imaging analysis, computer vision systems, and machine learning applications. She has authored over 150 scholarly publications that bridge computer science with medical applications.

Dr. Stan Raicu's contributions have been recognized with multiple prestigious awards including the DePaul Excellence in Teaching Award (2008), DePaul Spirit of Inquiry Award (2010), IBM Faculty Innovation Award (2010), and the St. Louise de Marillac Women of Spirit & Action Award (2016).

Her research has secured significant funding from the National Science Foundation, Argonne National Laboratory, Department of Education, and MacArthur Foundation. She also serves on the National Executive Council of Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE) honor society in Computer and Information Sciences since 2008.

At DePaul, Dr. Stan Raicu leads research initiatives in medical informatics and multimedia processing, teaching courses in image processing, computer vision, and data science while directing the Data Mining and Predictive Analytics Center's work on healthcare applications.
