Daniela Rus

Daniela Rus is the Andrew (1956) and Erna Viterbi Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT. She serves as Director of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) and Deputy Dean of Research in the Schwarzman College of Computing. Her work focuses on advancing the science and engineering of autonomy, bridging machine learning, robotics, and physical-cognitive task automation.

Her research explores scalable and trustworthy reasoning engines, neural circuit policies for interpretable AI, custom robotics, and intuitive human-robot interfaces. These efforts align with her vision of democratizing machine use for diverse applications.
