Daniela Fantoni Alvares is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Tourism Degree Program at the University of the Azores, Portugal. She is also a researcher at the Centre of Applied Economics Studies of the Atlantic (CEEaplA) and an external researcher at the Competitiveness, Governance and Public Policy (GOVCOPP) group at the University of Aveiro. Her research focuses on tourism planning, management, sustainability, cultural heritage, and fuzzy logic applications in tourism. She leads projects such as TRANSlighthouses and SIEMCI and has held management roles in Brazil's Ministry of Tourism, coordinating federal programs like the Tourism Regionalization Program.
