Professor Daniel Whistler is a historian of philosophy at Royal Holloway, University of London, specializing in French, German, and Dutch traditions of the 18th and 19th centuries. He holds roles as OfS Quality and Standards Assessor and UKRI Peer Review College member. His research focuses on Schelling, Hemsterhuis, and French historiography, with projects on plant humanities and debates in philosophy of nature. He has authored/co-edited over 90 works, including monographs on Schelling, Hemsterhuis, and Victor Cousin. Awards include Humboldt and EURIAS Fellowships. His leadership includes strategic educational reforms reducing assessment burdens across 1,000+ modules and designing the AHRC-DfG funding program.
