Dr. Daniel Vorpahl serves as Acting Professor for Hebrew Bible and Exegesis at the University of Potsdam's School of Jewish Theology. He holds significant administrative responsibilities including Deputy Managing Director, Deputy Chair of the Academic Affairs Commission, Module Coordinator for BA programs, and Deputy member of the Senate Commission for Equal Opportunities.

Dr. Vorpahl's research program critically examines the literary construction of gender within biblical, extra-canonical, and rabbinic literature. His work employs discourse analysis to trace the reception history of biblical themes across different eras, with particular attention to how gender constructs appear in religious children's and young adult literature. He also investigates familial and social structures in biblical antiquity, bridging historical analysis with contemporary gender theory. His interdisciplinary approach connects religious studies, literary criticism, and gender studies within Jewish theological frameworks.
